Recently the Maritain Center has made multiple appearances in popular media. On May 19th, Director Therese Cory and Program Manager Chris Enabnit appeared with Dr. Tod Worner on the Evangelization & Culture Podcast. A Word on Fire ministry, the podcast features an in-depth conversation on the lives and spiritual journey of Jacques and Raïssa Maritain. As the E&C blurb reads,
How did a young agnostic wracked with doubt and contemplating suicide become one of the greatest Catholic philosophers of the twentieth century? Join me as I talk with Therese Cory and Christopher Enabnit of the University of Notre Dame’s Jacques Maritain Center about the life, impact, and continuing relevance of Jacques Maritain on The Evangelization & Culture Podcast.
Also this month, Director Cory offered commentary for a video documentary, Beyond the Machine: Josef Pieper and the Challenge of AI. A EWTN feature, the documentary examines the understanding of leisure and work in the 20th century Catholic Philosopher. Director Cory features with a host of other leading intellectuals to elucidate Pieper's thought and connect it to contemporary questions related to AI, over-work, and humanity.
